Yang Style Tai Chi for Health & Vitality

The emphasis in this course will be on Tai Chi for inner calm, vitality and rejuvenation, not martial applications.
You'll learn a short sequence called Yang 6, which is enough to support your health and well-being. This will also prepare you to learn more advanced forms in future classes, if you wish.
I'll share videos for you to practice with, both during and after the training, so you can get the most out of our time together.
What I need from you is the commitment to practice regularly.
Tai Chi, more than many other health activities, requires daily practice, especially at the start. But it's definitely worth it - the benefits are amazing!
Our goal is for you to be able to practice Tai Chi on your own and continue doing it for the rest of your life.
Syllabus:

- Tai Chi Principles:
- - Empty Mind (Chan / Zen): Clear your mind, be present, and let go of distractions.
- - Sinking the Weight (Chen): Focus on grounding your body and sinking your energy into the earth.
- - Poise & Relaxation (Fansung): Maintain a calm and balanced posture while staying relaxed.
- - Expanding Energy (Peng): Cultivate and expand your inner energy throughout your body.
- - Spiral Energy (Chansi): Use circular, spiraling movements to move your energy.
- - Applications (Jin): Every movement has a martial application.
- - No Doing (Wu Wei): Act without force or struggle; let things flow naturally.
- Mindful Walking: Walk with awareness, paying attention to your steps and breath.
- Tai Chi Abdominal Exercises: Practices to develop the abdominal power centre
- Tai Chi Joint Exercises: Gentle movements to loosen and strengthen your joints.
- Spontaneous Qi Ball: A free flowing spontaneous version of Tai Chi teaching us how to move with the Qi.
- Small Circle Yang Tai Chi 6 Form: An advanced adaption of the beginning of the 24 Form.
About Anthony:

I graduated from Cambridge University in 1992 with a degree in computer science & management along with a breakdown.
I worked for a couple of years first as a financial auditor, then a computer programmer before deciding to pack up my life and see what I could find in Asia to help my body relax and recover its vitality.
After travelling through India & Nepal for six months, I arrived in China, found a Yang Style Tai Chi teacher and never looked back.
I studied modern style Beijing 24, 42 Form and Chen 74 with a teacher called Wang Zhi Ping in China between 1997 and 2006. I lived there for a year and a half at one stage.
Over a few visits to Chenjiagou, I became a student of Chen Zhao Sen and learn his Chen Forms, but eventually settled with Yang Dong Bao from 2010 eventually learning both his Yang & Chen Small Circle Tai Chi.
I continued spending six months a year with Yang Dong Bao, learning 1-1 with him daily until I slowly reduced the study time to one month a year by 2014. My last visit was in the Autumn of 2018.
I taught Modern Yang Style Tai Chi between 2005-2007 in the UK, and then started again sharing Small Circle Style from 2014.

Course Fees
Workshop Fee: 3000 kr including videos to practise with.

Coaching:
One to One Tai Chi Coaching
Sessions can take several forms:
- General Tai Chi training for Health & Well-being.
- Tai Chi Movement Therapy to help with a specific problem such as fall prevention, stroke recovery, heart attack recovery, chronic fatigue recovery or mental health recovery.
- Adhoc sessions to support a student attending a group based course.
I am happy to consider sessions with anyone whatever their state of physical or mental health.
I am open to invitations to run half-day or full-day tutorial training and may be able to travel to you.
Fee: £80 / hour, £120 / 1 1/2 hours.
